Guildwood Estates is a really good option for buyers who like Alta Vista but want a slightly newer and more traditional suburban style of home.

Compared with some of the older parts of Alta Vista, you tend to see larger homes, attached garages and layouts that feel more familiar to buyers coming from newer Ottawa suburbs.

Guildwood Estates and the surrounding neighbourhoods often get grouped together, but once you spend time in the area you start noticing the differences in the age and style of the homes.

This is usually one of the first places I look for buyers who love Alta Vista but do not necessarily want an older bungalow.

There is a nice balance here between mature streets and homes that can feel a little more practical for modern family living.

Because there is not much vacant residential land left, most of the change happens one property at a time through renovations, additions and rebuilds rather than large scale new development.
