Urbandale Acres

Urbandale Acres is a quieter pocket of Alta Vista that offers a lot of the same mature neighbourhood feel, but with housing that is generally a little newer than some of the classic 1950s sections.

A lot of the neighbourhood was developed in the 1960s, so you tend to see more conventional family layouts than you do in some of the older bungalow heavy parts of Alta Vista.

Urbandale Acres often gets grouped together with Guildwood Estates, but I think they are worth separating. The age of the homes, architecture and overall streetscape feel noticeably different once you know what you are looking at.

You will find a good mix of detached two storey homes, split levels and attached garages, which can make it a good fit for buyers who want Alta Vista without necessarily wanting an older post war bungalow.

There are also some really nice mature streets here that do not necessarily get the same attention as Playfair Park or Faircrest Heights.

The greenspace through this section of Alta Vista is another thing buyers tend to underestimate until they actually spend some time in the neighbourhood.
